| edit: I had totally forgot about it, but because the Dems own the House now they get to have the Speaker. Which is, most likely, going to be Nancy Pelosi from California. She would be the first female Speaker of the House. Also important cuz this position is second in line to President after VP.
What a wonderful day to be a Democrat. Not saying I am one, just that it is. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- wow. WOW.
Democrats take the majority in # of Governors (28, could be 30), the House (228v196, with 11 to go), and possibly the Senate (50v49, 1 freaking important one left since the tiebreak is VP).
Talk about a major change. I'm not well-versed in political details, but even from a larger perspective this is pretty nuts. For me it means this.
A) Shit hasn't been going well and the people want a change. The Democrats gained 5 Senate seats, 28 House seats, and 6 Governors. For there to be a change of this magnitude during the Presidency of the opposing party is a pretty big deal. People are not happy. I do not remember the last time the Dems had (possibly) the control of all levels of government (excluding the presidency). It's been a long damn time.
B) Talk about a change from the past. I can't remember off the top of my head the exact numbers, but Bush and the Republicans dominated (and I mean like f*ing owned) the midterm elections in 2002. Albeit that came after 9/11 and Bush's "effective" leadership, but still. Things have changed.
C) No more excuses for Democrats. The Dems always bitch that they have no control, and they blame all the troubles of our nations on the Republicans that are in control. Now they're in the hot seat. They're driving the bus. It's time to cowboy the f*ck up.
Why I wrote this I don't know. I should be doing something more important.

| wow this baby hasnt been updated in ages.
do people still use xanga? facebook is like...all consuming.
school has been fricken busy. actually make that life. its been fun...meeting a buncha new people, most of them pretty awesome. i especially adore the freshmen...they're cute kids. i wasn't nearly as cool at that age. not saying that i am now either.
ksa, without a doubt, has been consuming. but at the same time really rewarding. ive been getting out of it as much if not more than i've been putting into it. so im pretty happy with that.
the past few months have been marked with a lot of changes. and for the first time in my life i feel like i have very little direction in terms of what the future has in store. before, i felt like i knew where i was going and what i was going to be doing...now, everything is kinda hazy. it is at the same time nerve-wracking and motherfing exciting.
its 5:11am. my birthday time. not my birthdate time...which is 6:38am. haha.
this entry is going nowhere. and i have a midterm in 4.5 hours. and i dont even know who uses xanga anymore.
im anxious for thanksgiving. to see my brothers, to talk to people i havent talked with in a while, to get a break.
study time.
